The Desperado Roller Coaster In Primm, Nevada

Primm, Nevada has several amusement park style rides that may be of interest to aficionados and families. Primm is an unincorporated community with three large casino/hotels near the California border: Buffalo Bill’s Resort and Casino, Primm Valley Resort, and Whiskey Pete’s Hotel and Casino. The town is the nearest Nevada gambling destination for most Southern California residents.

Primm is home to more than just casinos. It has several amusement park style rides that provide family fun including the Desperado roller coaster, the Vault, the Turbo Drop, and the Adventure Canyon Log Flume Ride. Buffalo Bill’s Resort and Casino, which is the largest of the three hotel/casinos in Primm, is the center of the action for these attractions.

The Desperado Roller Coaster is one of the tallest and fastest roller coasters in the world. It has a 225-foot drop and reaches speeds up to 80 miles per hour. A ride typically costs about $7. Buffalo’s Bill’s also has the “Turbo Drop”, which affords an excellent view of the surrounding area, and then has a sharp drop back down to the admission area. Riders can see all the way to Las Vegas on a clear day or night.

The Adventure Canyon Log Flume Ride is great for families. It is a typical water log ride that will not get riders too wet and the drops are not too steep. Riders also get water guns to shoot at targets during the ride. The ride costs about $5 but discounts may be available making the ride more affordable. Buffalo Bill’s Resort and Casino also has “The Vault”, which is a 3-D simulation ride.
